How To Tell If I Purchased A Counterfeit?

At The BB Company, we take pride in providing high-quality products that our customers love and trust. However, we've noticed that some third-party sellers and websites falsely claim to sell our products.

To protect yourself from counterfeit or unauthorized items, we've created this guide to assist customers should they come across a website or listing claiming to sell authentic BB Company products.

What is a counterfeit product?

Supplements sold in the US adhere to strict regulations set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). All BB Company products undergo rigorous compliance tests to ensure they meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and efficacy. 

A counterfeit product is an illegal imitation of an item or good. These counterfeit products are not subject to the strict regulations we’ve already adhered to, instead they’re cheaply produced using inferior ingredients. This immensely alarms us as the health and safety of customers loyal to our brand are at risk if they unknowingly purchase and consume counterfeit products. 

We are doing our best to combat the manufacturers and sellers of counterfeit BB Company products but at the same time, we urge our customers to only buy from the official BB Company sales channels.

DO NOT buy or consume products from unauthorised sellers as they are likely to be counterfeits or imitations that are untested and NOT SAFE for consumption.

What is BB Company doing to address counterfeits?

We actively monitor, report, and remove known websites and online listings that sell counterfeit products, and we pursue legal action when necessary. Yet, due to the widespread nature of counterfeit goods online and limited U.S. legislation to combat them, it is impossible to guarantee that all counterfeit listings are removed.

Your awareness truly makes a difference. If you come across any suspicious websites, social media pages, or products that don’t seem genuine, please let us know. By reporting them, you help safeguard others, uphold product quality, and keep our community safe from dangerous counterfeit products.

Platforms like Amazon and Walmart operate as open marketplaces, meaning other sellers can sometimes list products under the same item page. While we’ve taken important steps to protect our customers, such as enrolling in Amazon’s Transparency program and securing brand protection on Walmart, some listings may still appear from unauthorized sellers.

To ensure you’re getting genuine, high-quality products, always check that the seller is BB Company before making a purchase. This helps you avoid counterfeit products and ensures you receive safe, authentic items supported by our team.

For your safety, do not buy or consume products from other channels or unauthorized sellers. These are often counterfeit or imitation products that may not be safe for consumption. They are not covered by our Money-Back-Guarantee nor official affiliate guarantees.

How to avoid purchasing counterfeit BB Company products outside of BB Company website?

Don't purchase from unofficial and unaffiliated websites and stores! 

When purchasing from Amazon

  1. Go to the Official BB Company Amazon store and look for the product/s you want to purchase.

  2. Before you click add to cart, check if the offer is Sold by BB Company (formerly Better Body Co.). If it is, as shown below, you may proceed to click “Add to cart” or “Buy now” and complete your purchase.

    If what you can add to cart is sold by another seller, as shown below, click the section ‘Other sellers on Amazon’ below:

  3. You should see all the offers from other sellers. Click ‘see more’ to see the other sellers’ names.

  4. Look for the option Sold by “BB Company (formerly Better Body Co.)”. Click the “Add to cart” button for that option to ensure you are not buying counterfeits.

When purchasing from Walmart

  1. Go to the Official BB Company Walmart store and look for the product/s you want to purchase.
  2. Before you click add to cart, check if the offer is Sold by BB Company. If it is, as shown below, you may proceed to click “Add to cart” and complete your purchase.

    If what you can add to cart is sold by another seller, as shown below, click the section ‘More seller options’

  3. Look for the option that is sold by “BB Company”. Click the “Add to cart” button for that option to ensure you are not buying counterfeits.

How to check if your product is a counterfeit if you already purchased outside of BB Company website?

If you purchased from Amazon:

Step 1: Go to your orders page, navigate and click the order you want to check, and click ‘View order details”:

Step 2: Under shipment details, you’ll see some details about the product you ordered. Check if it’s sold by “BB Company (formerly Better Body Co.)”. If it’s sold by another seller, as shown below, it’s likely that you bought a counterfeit product.

Step 3: If you purchased from a counterfeit seller, please refrain from consuming the counterfeit product and contact Amazon customer service to report that you received a counterfeit product so you can get a refund. You can also report it to us so we can take action against the counterfeit seller.

Key Differences between Authentic and Counterfeit Provitalize

  1. Origin of the product: Our products are manufactured in the US and AU, and we have distributions in AU, CA, KY, ID, IE, MY, PH, SG, UAE, US, and UK. Be wary of any seller located or products originating outside of these countries.
  2. The Label: Quality and clarity; Our product labels are printed at a crisp resolution with matte finish. Counterfeit product labels are typically printed at lower, grainy quality with a glossy finish.

  3. Company Name: Authentic Provitalize displays the BB Company or Better Body Co. logo on the product label.
    • Some counterfeit bottles display another company name that is NOT BB Company or Better Body Co.

  4. Product Name: Some counterfeits also alter the product name slightly, through misspellings or alterations to something similar

  6. Expiry Date Placement: Genuine BB Company products have the expiry date and production batch number listed on the bottom of the bottle, printed in legible ink. Some counterfeit Provitalize don't have these printed at the bottom.

  7. Tamper Evident Seals: Authentic products are sealed inside with a "Sealed for your protection" print. Counterfeit products have a different seal inside such as foil or no print.

  8. Probiotic Strains: The original Provitalize contains only 3 strains. The strains are B. Breve, L. Gasseri and B. Lactis.
     

  9. The Ingredients: Authentic Provitalize contains only the ingredients and amounts listed below. We do NOT use any fillers in our products.

  10. Capsule and Powder: Our capsules are clear and show the fine powder inside. Counterfeits will often come in white capsules, white powder, or not be finely powdered at all. While various shades can naturally occur, the powder would never be white, granular, or gel. Should you have concerns about the capsules purchased, refrain from consuming the product and report it to us right away.

     
  11. Capsule Type: Our original Provitalize comes in DRcaps™. Counterfeits do not use these special capsules.

Reporting Counterfeits

If you suspect you bought a counterfeit product, submit a contact form here along with the following details:

  1. Names of the Product(s) you purchased and suspect are counterfeits
  2. Website URL where you purchased the product(s) and a screenshot of your order details showing the Order ID
  3. The counterfeit product web-page URL
  4. Tracking numbers if applicable
  5. Photos of the products you received
    • All sides of the bottle
    • Bottom of the bottle
    • Capsules or tablets the product(s) contain

Sending us this information would significantly aid our efforts to combat counterfeit sellers.
